Data Deletion Instructions

This page explains how to delete the data Whatsaff holds about you, including data we received from Meta (Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp) when you connected your accounts.

1. How to request deletion

Email info@awstreams.com with the subject "Data deletion request". Send it from the email address on your Whatsaff account, or, if you are not an account holder, include the phone number or the Facebook or Instagram account the request is about. We confirm receipt within 3 business days and may ask you to verify that the data is yours before we delete it.

2. Disconnect first if you want to stop data flowing now

Account holders can disconnect a WhatsApp number, Facebook Page or Instagram account at any time from the connections screens in Whatsaff; this stops new data from Meta reaching us while your request is processed.

3. Remove Whatsaff from Facebook

You can also remove Whatsaff from your Facebook account: Facebook > Settings & privacy > Settings > Apps and websites > Whatsaff > Remove. Then email us as in section 1 if you want the data we already received deleted.

4. What is deleted

  • Your account profile (name, email, phone number, business details).
  • Meta Platform Data: WhatsApp Business Account and phone number links, access tokens, page and Instagram connections, message templates.
  • Conversations, messages, media and contacts stored for your account.
  • Automations, campaigns, forms and settings.

We keep only what the law requires (invoices and payment records for tax purposes) and a record that the deletion happened.

5. Timeline

  • Disconnection from WhatsApp and Meta and removal of access tokens: within 3 business days of a verified request.
  • Removal from our live systems: within 30 days of the request.
  • Encrypted backups: roll off automatically within 35 days.

We email you when the deletion is complete.

6. Customers of businesses that use Whatsaff

If a business messaged you through Whatsaff, that business controls your data. Ask it to delete your data, or email us and we will pass the request on and help it act on it.
